Domaine de Marcelin – Ecole d’agriculture et de viticulture

Morges

The first written mention of vineyards in the village of Marcelin dates back to 1304, when it was reported that a south-facing slope overlooking Mont Blanc overlooked the town of Morges. Other records from the 17th century also emphasise the importance of this land suitable for viticulture, which was chosen in 1922 to house the Vaud Cantonal School of Agriculture and Viticulture as well as a wine, agricultural, fruit and vegetable estate for educational and experimental purposes. The Domaine de Marcelin is currently managed by the Direction Générale de l’Agriculture, de la Viticulture et des Affaires Vétérinaires of the State of Vaud and serves as a “pilot estate” for the training of future winegrowers and cellar masters. The winery is orientated towards innovative methods of winegrowing, winemaking and wine ageing.
